LS CHLORINE TANK Cylinder Blaster-ONE TON
Clean Parts Fast With LS Industries Airless Shot Blaster.
Cleaning Scope:
Airless shot blaster designed to remove external rust, paint and other surface impurities. Maximum tank size is 30" diameter and 81" long. The blaster will clean smaller cylinder that will set on the roller mechanism. Blasting the surface of tanks offers several advantages. Visual inspection is much easier and the blasted tank has a superior surface profile for paint adhesion.
Production Capacity:
The blaster is designed to blast clean 15 tanks per hour. This may increase depending on the condition of the base paint. Estimated time to load, blast clean and unload a tank is four minutes. Maximum capacity is one ton chlorine tank. 30" dia x 81" long.
Equipment Description:
Blast Cabinet Frame:
The blaster frame is all steel. Controls are mounted on the exterior of the blaster and positioned so the operator has easy access. The interior of the cabinet is lined with abrasive resistant material for long life. Tanks are loaded onto the work platform and moved inside the blaster for blasting. After the blast cycle is complete, an eject bar will remove the tank from the main blast cabinet and back onto the load platform.
Impeller Wheels:
The blaster will utilize four standard LS impeller wheels. Each wheel well is lined with replaceable abrasive resistant plate material. LS wheels are easy to access and do not require special tools to maintain or replace parts. Components include: Outer wheel well Inner wheel well Balanced hub assembly with drive shaft, 4 ea. 12" long impeller blades, Heavy duty 2" bearings Impeller drive motor 10 horsepower each.
Pneumatic Door:
LS Industries uses a pneumatic / liquid door system. The liquid over air door is superior to others on the market using only air. The LS advantage is a smoother door operation and added safety. If an airline breaks or air pressure is lost while the door is in the load position, it will lock in place. The door is lined with abrasive resistant material for added life. Controls for the door are located on the front side of the blaster. All controls are recessed for safety.
Pneumatic Cylinder Lift:
A load/unload platform is designed on the blaster and is used to load tanks onto the blaster and roll them inside for blasting. It also is used to unload tanks after the blast cycle.
Pneumatic Cylinder Eject:
An air operated eject system removes cleaned tanks from the blast cabinet and onto the load / unload platform. Controls are mounted on the front side of the blaster within easy access of the operator.
Cylinder Roll:
Two abrasive resistant shafts are positioned inside the cabinet and serve to support and rotate tanks during the blast cycle. The roller shafts are driven by a gear reducer and motor assembly (two inch diameter manganese rollers). Bearing supports are mounted outside the blast cabinet for easy maintenance. Tank roll speed is preset from the factory and is not adjustable.
Shot Monitor:
A digital ammeter gives the operator immediate and easy to read feedback on the operating system. A light system is also incorporated to notify the operator if the machine needs shot or if too much shot was added to the machine.

Red light---------remove shot
Electrical:
All components are UL and CSA listed. NEMA 12 electrical enclosures are used. An automatic cycle timer controls the blast cycle. To begin the cleaning cycle the start button is depressed. The timer will automatically reset to the desired cleaning cycle after each cycle. A single point electrical hook up for the blaster and collector make installation easy. * Fusible disconnect is optional. Standard voltage is 220 volt, 3 phase or 440 volt, 3 phase.
Dust Collector:
The system is complete with dust collector to remove rust and paint from the shot operating mix. The standard collector is a bag house unit sized to meet the needs of the system. Model DC-5. The collector is shipped with a 55 gallon drum to collect dust.
Abrasive Shot:
Several types of abrasive media are available. LS recommends S-280 or S-330 steel shot, which produces the most favorable cleaning results. The equipment is charged with a full load of media and additional amounts can be purchased.
